It is 2019 already and the holidays are all over with. Most people are saying thank God, but some people are saying why are the holidays over? During the holidays, we saw family and friends who we don’t see too often, and we got out more. Since we are back to the normal daily routine, what can we do to help us to grow and enjoy life to its fullness?
Taking a Class
The first thing that you can do is to take a class at your local college. I don’t mean to get a degree, but you can if you want. There are many classes that are an introduction to something. You can most likely take the class online, so you don’t need to get a ride to the college. I took several online courses and I loved them.
If you don’t want to take a class at a college, there are many websites which have short courses that you can go at your own pace. I took several classes on Udemy and the classes are reasonably priced. They have hundreds or thousands of subjects to pick from. Some teachers are willing to answer your questions too. I think this is an awesome way to educate yourself.
The next is to start a blog if you like to write. Many people think that they need a website for a blog, but there are many websites that host blogs for people. One thing that is great is that the website has traffic to it, so people can find you quicker. The reason that I went with a website was that I wanted to set up talks and sell my book and courses.

Getting in Fit
We are seeing a lot of commercials about getting fit and exercise more. Being a person with a disability, we have to do therapy, although we usually hate going. Like anyone else, doing exercise more helps all of us to stay fit. I know getting therapy is tricky to get, but sometimes you can get therapy for six weeks and Medicare usually pays for it. I know that is not enough, but you have to be grateful for what you can receive.
If you can work out at a gym or need minimum help from a friend, that might be good for you. We sometimes forget that we are human beings like anyone else, so we can have health problems. With our disability, we could get sick easier but if we work out more, we can be healthy.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. You can help out at church, in a school, in a hospital, and at many other places. One good thing about volunteering is that you don’t need to be worried about making too much money, so you lose your money from the government. It also gives you a sense of helping others. Our country really needs more people who give their time and are not looking for payback.
We are a few days into 2019, it is a good time to figure out what we can do this year to grow and maybe help other people along the way. If we improve ourselves, we can improve our community. If you have other ideas to start doing this year, please put your ideas in the comments below.
